Welcome to Trailside Point School, home of the panthers! We are a brand new K-8 school in the neighborhood and part of a proactive and patient community in Laveen, Arizona. We have many exciting transitions happening.The excitement from the community, staff, and administration has been outstanding. The support and enthusiasm has been an incredible boost and we give gratitude and appreciation to our community and business partners. Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members,

The 2010-2011 school year is off to a great start. By far, this has been our best start to a school year. We are excited to get to our first Galileo testing week to gain assessment data from all of our students. Once we have the data in our hands, our instructional practice becomes much more specific.
 
I would like to thank all of you for your cooperation at morning drop off and afternoon pick up. The parking lot is running smoothly. By pulling forward as far as possible you help keep the traffic moving, keep our students safe, and allow our school to function efficiently. If you choose to park, please use an appropriate parking space. Some cars are parking and blocking in other drivers.
 
Parental involvement includes a wide range of behaviors but generally refers to parents' and family members' use and investment of resources in their children's schooling. These investments can take place in or outside of school, with the intention of improving children's learning. Parental involvement at home can include activities such as discussions about school, helping with homework, and reading with children. Involvement at school may include becoming a member of the Site Council or PTA, volunteering in the classroom, attending workshops, or attending curriculum and sporting events.

Research on the effects of parental involvement has shown a consistent, positive relationship between parents' engagement in their children's education and student outcomes. Studies have also shown that parental involvement is associated with student outcomes such as lower dropout and truancy rates. Whether or not parental involvement can improve student outcomes is no longer in question. Now is the time to become involved.
