Welcome to Trailside Point School, home of the panthers! We are a brand new K-8 school in the neighborhood and part of a proactive and patient community in Laveen, Arizona. We have many exciting transitions happening.The excitement from the community, staff, and administration has been outstanding. The support and enthusiasm has been an incredible boost and we give gratitude and appreciation to our community and business partners. Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members,

Our students and teachers are continuing to meet and exceed our high academic standards as this school year progresses. During our last data assembly we were able to recognize the academic achievements of our students. Over 270 students were named to the Honor Roll with a grade point average between 3.00 and 3.79, and more than 115 students made the Principal’s List with a grade point average between 3.80-4.00. Some of our grade levels are coming very close to meeting the district goal of 70% of our students meeting or exceeding the standards in math and reading.

We currently have less than 40 school days until high stakes testing. Our focus continues to be in the areas of reading and math. We have been very pleased with the progress that all of our students are making, but we still have a lot of work to do until April 12th, the first day of AIMS and SAT10 testing. The following are some tips to assist your child at home according to the American Federation of Teachers:

• Ask your child about school each and every day.
• Find time for praise and rewards.
• Make sure homework gets done.
• Encourage your child to read.
• Establish discipline at home.
